InnoTrans 2024 was a standout event for both 4Tel and 4AI Systems. The newly created AI Mobility Lab was an ideal to location to demonstrate the advancements to Horus, 4AI Systems’ onboard vision perception and warning system. 4Tel also attracted many of our long-term international colleagues who continue to show interest in our low-cost solution to virtual-block-train-control (VBTC) and supporting systems that are in use in Kenya and Australia.
Our team members connected with an impressive number of representatives from the global rail industry throughout the week. Our only regret is not having sent more staff to deal with the constant flow of traffic at our stand who were eager to learn more about our Horus and EN4CER systems. Our team also conducted a series of demonstrations to AI Tour Groups of around 30 people at a time.
This year our stand featured a life-size train cutout with the Horus SensorBar mounted in its true position giving perspective to how the system looks in life, as well as the Driver Machine Interface showing what the Train Operator would see in the cab. Both were a big draw card to the stand. A special thank you to Pacific National for letting us replicate the real positioning of our Horus SensorBar on the front of their train – what an impact!
4AI Systems Co-Founder and Director Derel Wust and Chief Technology Officer Mark Wood spoke about “Using Artificial Intelligence to Do Boring Better” in their presentation at the AI Mobility Corner to a great turnout. This new platform to present to an interested audience is a new feature to InnoTrans and we are thankful for the opportunity.
Held from 24-27 September, the largest international trade fair for railways takes place every two years in Berlin. This year’s attendance broke records, with 2940 exhibitors and around 170,000 visitors from 133 countries.
