Following many years in a marketing development role at 4Tel, Joanne’s role as group CEO encompasses driving an innovation agenda across all of the company’s business units. This involves pursuing advancements in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and other future-thinking technologies that can help solve industry problems.
Passionate about furthering 4Tel’s presence locally and internationally, Joanne brings expertise in corporate communications, international relations and marketing from her previous government, entertainment and technology positions.
Tony Crosby is 4Tel’s Chief Executive Officer. He joined 4Tel in 2013 as General Manager of Services, where he was responsible for the company’s customer support contracts and ongoing local and international business development, before taking up his current role as CEO of 4Tel in 2023.
Tony has extensive industry experience, having worked within the rail industry since 2000. His roles have included Systems Asset Manager for the Rail Access Corporation where he delivered capital projects to replace signal control panels with the ATRICS computer-based signal control system, and as ARTC’s National Train Communications System (NTCS) Project Manager for the design and delivery of the ICE radio.
Tony is formally recognised by Engineers Australia as a Chartered Professional Engineer, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering, Communications-Electronics with Honours, and an MBA in Technology.
Graham Hjort is 4Tel’s General Manager of Control Systems. With over 25 years of signalling and train control system experience, Graham brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge to control system solutions.
Graham has reliably delivered numerous large projects, most notably the creation of a new Country Regional Network (CRN) train control centre for the Country Regional Network (CRN), to enable separation of train control from ARTC. The new facility was established within 12 months and continues to provide industry leading reliability for regional train control. As a supporter of new technology, Graham has overseen the transformation of regional train control in New South Wales with notable advancements such as the introduction of Electronic Train Authorities, Out of Authority alarm delivery to locomotives, Proximity Reminders, and digital work-on-track initiatives such as PTW and PTW-V (ETW, ETW-V, eTAP, eTAP-V).
Following many years of successful operation on the CRN, Graham is now leading the expansion of these safety and efficiency initiatives across parts of the ARTC network.
Graham holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours and a Graduate Diploma in Railway Signalling.
James has been with 4Tel since 2015 and is responsible for the planning, design, delivery and management of 4Tel’s software team. He is passionate about new technologies, refining processes and creating opportunities for continued improvement.
During his tenure at 4Tel, James rewrote 4Trak into the current HTML5 format and is a leader in the Research and Development of new products, most recently for 4AMS, 4Port, and 4LRMS. James understands the complex nature of software development and has a deep appreciation for the importance of collaboration in delivering high-quality products. He is dedicated to ensuring the team exceeds client expectations.
James’ experience spans several industries including Education, Finance and Mining. He hold trade qualifications in Communications and Electronics.
