To coincide with International Women in Engineering Day, we were invited to participate in Newcastle University Women in Engineering‘s Biggest Morning Tea to raise money for cancer and connect with like-minded women.
Representing us on the Q&A panel was Marisa McLean, a Mechatronics Engineer who completed her degree at University of Newcastle, including a stint as Engineering Team Lead for NU Racing. A NUWIE success story, Marisa started an internship with 4Tel in 2022 while still studying and is now a full-time Systems Engineer. Thank you to Marisa for sharing your career insights with the students who attended the event.
Representing 4AI Systems Inc was Anuska Sharma, an international student who graduated from University of Newcastle in 2025 with a Masters in Information Technology. Anuska started with us as a casual employee in 2024 and after completing her degree, was employed as a full-time Project Analyst, supporting the delivery of our AI and engineering projects.
With women comprising 16% of the engineering workforce in Australia, 4Tel is actively addressing the gender disparity through employment opportunities, industry mentorship, and our ongoing sponsorship of NUWIE.
