UoN NUbots Showcase RoboCup Robots to 4Tel

Robot playing Soccer at the Robocup

On 16 June 2017, the University of Newcastle (UoN) NUbots team put on a showcase of their efforts in the lead-up to the international RoboCup championship competition. 4Tel is the Platinum Sponsor of the team for 2017.
Owner and Managing Director, Derel Wust, was delighted to see the great work that the NUbots team is producing under the guidance of Professor Stephan Challup.
Derel said, “Watching these fantastic robots use artificial intelligence to “see” the ball, walk to it, then kick it, and get up if they fall over, is just great”.
“Most exciting though is that the work is being used to develop the next generation of artificial Intelligence engineers and computer scientists here in Newcastle.”
4Tel and UoN Robotics and Engineering Faculty staff are working together to research and develop neural networking, vision processing and artificial intelligence algorithms for potential use in the rail industry.

The RoboCup will be held between July 27-31, in Nagoya, Japan.
